I’ve been having issues with bots signing up on the site and forums recently. I’ve blocked people from signing up on the main site to comment on my posts because the discussions should be done in the forum rather then on the main site. It also saves people from having to sign up for 2 different accounts and would miss all the benefits of being a forum member.

As for the forum, I’ve employed all the security measures that I can to try and stop bots from registering and posting up garbage. However, it has only slowed down registrations. I’ve put up a post in the site help section regarding this. What I’ve had to resort to doing is manually looking over all new accounts and deleting the ones that look suspicious. If you are registering a new account, please activate it right away, then read the topic in the site help on account deletion to avoid having yours removed. Basically if it looks like a real account, I won’t remove it. The more info put into the profile, the more real it looks. If you follow the suggestions in the thread, your account will be safe.

I’m sorry for having to resort to this, but it’s the best I can do for now. If a solution becomes available in the future, I’ll remove the post and not have to worry about this anymore. So for now, please stick with it and if your account is removed, I’m very sorry and please sign up again and put more info into your profile.
